stay in your row
Galatians 6:4
Grace and peace be with you right now friend! Ever been there? Scrolling through Instagram, and suddenly, it hits you like a ton of bricks. “Her life looks better.” “I’ll never measure up.”
Yeah, me too. We all have.
Comparison is like that sneaky little weed that seems harmless at first—but give it a minute, and suddenly it’s choking out every good thing God is growing in your life. But the truth, sis — God didn’t plant you to bloom like her. He planted you to bloom like YOU.
Here’s the truth you need to hear this today:
Comparison poisons growth.
The more you stare at her garden, the less you water yours.
The more you envy her row of sunflowers, the more you neglect the roses God is trying to bloom in you.
God’s best for you?
It’s actually for YOU. Not for her. Not for the influencer with 32M followers. Not for the friend who always seems to have her life together.
YOU.
YOUR field.
YOUR garden.
rooting out the lies
The enemy loves to distract us by making us look left and right, instead of staying focused on what God is cultivating right in front of us. When you're too busy checking out someone else's garden, you miss what He's trying to grow in your own.
Galatians 6:4 (MSG) says it perfectly:
"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."
You weren’t made to bloom like her — you’re called to your own field.
when you’re stuck in the scroll spiral...
Let’s get real: We all have moments when we feel like our faith is flimsy compared to hers.
Like God is blessing everyone else with miracles, while you’re still waiting on your breakthrough.
But what if…
Her growth isn’t a threat to yours?
Her blessing doesn’t cancel out yours?
God isn’t running out of goodness.
He’s got enough for her garden—and yours too.
Isaiah 43:19 (NIV) reminds us:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
A new thing—in YOU.
But you’ve got to stay in your row.
Tend to YOUR soil.
Water YOUR seeds.
cultivating your garden of faith
Stay in Your Row
God’s best for you is actually for YOU. Not her. Not your favorite influencer. Not that girl leading worship at church. You.
Water what’s been placed in your hands right now — even if it feels small. Even if it's hidden. Even if nobody else sees it. Faithfulness in the small places always leads to fruitfulness in the bigger ones.
Uproot the Weed of Comparison
Every time you catch yourself thinking, “Her life is better,” pause and pray:
“God, thank You for what You’re doing in her life... and thank You for what You’re doing in mine.”
Gratitude is the shovel that digs out comparison at the root.
Plant Seeds of Gratitude Daily
It’s impossible to compare when you’re too busy counting your own blessings. Start small:
Write down three things you're grateful for every morning.
Snap a photo of something God is growing in your life right now — no matter how small.
Post it with the hashtag #SeedsOfFaith and watch how gratitude shifts your perspective.
your field is sacred
What God is planting in you?
It’s not ordinary.
Your field is holy ground.
Your growth will be worth the wait.
Your harvest will feed others—if you don’t abandon it chasing someone else’s blooms.
So, stay in your row.
Pull the weeds.
Water your faith.
Let God grow something extraordinary in YOU.
truth to plant in your soul
You don't have to bloom like anyone else. The same God who designed the sunflower also made the wildflower. Both are beautiful. Both were made with purpose. Both bloom in their own time.
Keep your eyes on your row. Water what God has given you. Stay rooted in gratitude. And trust that what He's planting in you will bloom — right on time. God’s timing. God’s plan. God’s garden. Amen!
in harmony,
nancy
