dry ground revival
Matthew 11:28
Grace and peace be with you right now friend! Sound familiar?
“I’m tired.”
“I’m over it.”
“Does God even see this effort?”
If you’ve whispered—or screamed—any of these words lately, you’re not alone. Faith can feel heavy when you’re running on empty. Maybe you’re serving, praying, showing up, and doing all the things, but your soul feels… well, dry. Like you’re pressing forward on autopilot, but the passion? The connection? The fire? It’s flickering.
Burnout is real. But hear this: God refreshes weary souls.
holy rest: a gift, not a weakness
Somewhere along the way, we started believing that more is always better. More ministry, more striving, more pushing through. But Jesus Himself—who had the ultimate mission—took time to step away, to rest, to breathe. He wasn’t afraid to nap in a storm (Matthew 8:23-27) or slip away for time alone with the Father (Luke 5:16).
So why do we feel guilty for needing rest?
Because hustle culture has crept into our faith. It whispers:
🔹 You’re not doing enough.
🔹 God’s counting your effort.
🔹 If you slow down, you’ll fall behind.
Lies. Every single one.
The truth? You don’t have to hustle for God’s love.
His love isn’t measured by our productivity. He sees you when you’re on fire for Him, and He sees you when you’re struggling just to lift your hands in worship.
spiritual rest check-in 📝
Take a deep breath. Let’s pause for a moment and reflect.
🖊 Grab a journal, your notes app, or just think through these:
What is draining me spiritually right now?
When do I feel most connected to God?
Have I been prioritizing doing for God over just being with Him?
What would spiritual rest look like for me in this season?
What’s one small shift I can make today to create space for God’s refreshing?
Pray through your answers. Let God speak into your tired places.
how to step into rest + revival
Here’s your permission slip to step back, breathe deep, and realign. You don’t have to hustle for God’s love. He’s already given it—fully, freely, forever.
✔ Release the pressure. You’re not failing if you’re feeling weary. You’re human.
✔ Prioritize presence over performance. Sit with God, no agenda, no checklist.
✔ Protect your Sabbath. Your soul needs rhythms of rest—without guilt.
✔ Worship even when it’s hard. A dry soul can still sing; sometimes, that’s how the rain comes.
✔ Receive before you pour. You can’t give what you don’t have. Let God fill you up first.
rest is resistance
In a world that glorifies hustle, rest is an act of trust. It’s choosing to believe that God sustains, God sees, and God revives.
So if you’re feeling dry, know this: Living water still flows. God isn’t distant. He isn’t disappointed. He’s drawing you in, whispering, Come. Be still. Let Me breathe life back into your weary soul.
Will you accept His invitation? Amen!
in harmony,
nancy
