little yeses
Zechariah 4:10
Grace and peace be with you right now friend! I get it. Some days, your faith can feel... microscopic. You’re showing up, trying to do the “right things,” but it feels like nothing is moving. Prayers seem to hit the ceiling. That encouraging text you sent? Left on read. The $5 you tithed? You wonder if it made any difference at all.
And you’ve thought it—“Does this even matter?”
Or maybe, “My work feels so small.”
Or, the classic gut-check: “Will this obedience actually lead to anything?”
If that’s you, pull up a chair. Let’s talk.
the kingdom grows in the hidden places
Jesus loved to flip our ideas of “big” and “important” upside down. He told stories about mustard seeds—the tiniest of seeds—growing into trees. He talked about yeast, invisible as it mixes into dough, making it rise. He celebrated widows giving pennies and servants multiplying what little they had.
The Kingdom of God is not a viral moment. It’s a slow bloom. It’s hidden work. Unseen roots. The kind of faithfulness that often feels like nothing… until it becomes everything.
small yeses move mountains
I remember this season when I was praying BIG prayers—dreaming stadiums-full kind of dreams.
But all God kept asking me to do were these tiny, quiet things:
Text someone a verse.
Pray for my coworker in secret.
Give money to someone struggling.
Show up early to serve—when no one saw it.
Honestly? It felt... underwhelming. I was like, “God, THIS is the assignment?”
But those little yeses? They were planting something in me. Something deeper than fame. Faithfulness. Obedience. And that kind of root system can carry the weight of any dream later.
Because God doesn’t just want to do something through you; He wants to do something IN you.
every “yes” plants a seed
Every small act of obedience is a seed in the soil. You may not see the bloom today. You may not see the fruit tomorrow. But trust this—you are sowing into the Kingdom, and nothing is wasted.
That DM encouraging someone? It might be their lifeline.
That $5 tithe? It might fund a Bible that transforms a life.
That prayer before you scroll? It might reroute your entire day.
The world chases fame, but Jesus champions faithfulness.
And here’s the truth: Faithfulness will get you places fame never could.
check-in:
“Does this even matter?” → Yes. Always. God multiplies every “yes.”
“My work feels so small.” → Small is the soil where faith grows.
“Will this lead to anything?” → Maybe not like you expect, but it will lead to everything God intends.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – Zechariah 4:10
Your little steps? God is celebrating them—like a parent cheering on a toddler taking their first wobbly steps. He’s not asking for perfect leaps. He’s asking for your next little yes. Amen!
in harmony,
nancy
